First attempt imaging moon on webcam

First attempt imaging moon on webcam

First try on moon using a webcam. funny thing is that why by just using the webcam the result it just like a 10mm EP with 2x barlow. basically I can't get the whole moon [smilie=confused.gif] Any advice, please. Thanks

Hi Bern,

Assuming that you are using the same scope/webcam combination -you are going to need a focal reducer to see more of the moon.

You can type in reducer under the search window at one of the online stores; e.g. at OPTCORP.

Yes using the same set up 114eq and c310 webcam.

How do I know which one to get and what should I note of.
To many difference reducer. Thanks.

Considering that you are using a webcam, you may not want to spend too much $$ on a reducer. In my opinion you may want to try the Celestron NexImage reducer which will increase your field of view by x2. Still I think you may not get the fill moon. As I have not done it before, you may want to seek more opinion before proceeding. Wish you all the best
