Meade's LPI

Post by oxygn »

Hi guys,

Anyone can give comments or have a Meade's lunar planetary imager? Is it as good as what they advertise? what are the set backs and disadvantages?

Btw, the digi cameras u guys use, to take pics thru the eyepiece, can u do different time exposures with it? what model would that kind be?

Thanks,
Colin

The description looks in their adverts looks good but then I don't know why the sample images they displayed look so bad...I had this impression Saturn should look better on the 12" than what they showed. However, for US$149, I guess its value for money and beats needing to buy a Toucam and modifying it. Plus the softare package included incorporates a stacking software, so no need to use registrax...

btw, colin, do uppdate your equipment list into the databse, especially your "new" ST80 scope.

yup will update it.

But the LPI uses a cmos chip as compared to ccd chips used by the toucam. the CCD chips are suppose to be more sensitive to light right?

go to cloudynights to read up about this imager. They also compared it with the Toucam Pro. All the answers are there.
