Hi Kah Wai...

Don't worry.....

I think for the next few coming Saturday, if weather is good, I think Gary will again organize such side walk activities......

Hi Gary....

You should also announce any side walk activities for this coming Jupiter opposition , in coming few weeks, in Singastro, so that more people can come and mingle around......

"Tonight, tonight. The world is full of light. With suns and moons all over the place ..." :)

Tonight is the repeat session of the previous public stargazing talk in Nov with enhanced photo slides and videos. At Toa Payoh Public Library, Programme Zone, Level 1. From 7:00pm - 8.30pm with plenty of time left for stargazing. :)

All are welcomed to join in the fun with or without a telescope.

Last super bright and high ISS flyby over SG for 2012 tmr early morning. 9 Dec. 6:01am - 6:07am. NW to SE. Max 6.04am. http://www. http://www.heavens-above.com/PassDetail ... 9194198032

Europa (Jupiter's moon) performing magic tonight. Disappearing behind Jupiter at about 00:15am 9 Dec. Re-appear on the other side at about 2:42am.

Overnight stargazing thru a telescope tonight? You may see Jupiter's Great Red Spot TWICE! Once shortly after sunset at one side of the limb and then around 4.30am at transit.

And of course, there is this 2-day old telescope which will make a special appearance.... [smilie=admire.gif]

Hi All....

Yes, the new 152 APM ED APO will be at Toa Payoh Library open area....today around 4pm, if the weather is good...
Otherwise it will be there after 7pm....

We will wait until 10pm, if weather is not promising, then we will decide whether to end the session, otherwise we should be there until midnight.....
Especially those who wants some photos of the Jupiter through this scope.... Hahaha...

Haha. Let's invent a curse solution - buy a brand new toy scope and smash it with a counterweight. :P

Seeya later. :)

Thanks to Gary and team for hosting the session. Quite a good turn out and I had the chance to talk to some of the people there too. One Hokkien uncle came and talked to me non-stop for about 3-4 minutes and I only understood about 10% of what he said! I must also say Gary's talk is very public-friendly and kept the audience enthralled. Even the kids participated enthusiastically. The sessions was a resounding success. Goes to show all we need is Jupiter and the Plaeides to keep the audience going cos that's mostly what we could see in the earlier evening ! :)

@ James/KKK26, I only recognized now who you were from the scopes I saw at Toa Payoh this evening! haha. Took a quick peek through the APO (thanks to Gary for helping me jump the queue as I was leaving) and it does show good contrasty images of Jupiter. Even the elusive Vincent Senior appeared to check it out !

Hope to see more of it at future sessions :)
