CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."

Very nice shot my friend, may i ask how u managed to get the centre core portion Not to be over exposed while maintaining the fine detail to be spread evenly, is it through Photo Shop layers ? thanks for sharing.
Is it you shoot jpeg and camera internally process the photo of each shot?
I record in raw monochrome, dark frame subtracted and then convert it to color.
White balance it, stretch it and then convert to jpeg for further processing in Photoshop.
If your sub frames exposure time is too short it will not record the faint detail.
Try longer exposure per frame.

Wow, Sedili is a good sky, Canon 60Da is a good camera, did you put a cooler on it ? what's the sensor temperature for the shots ? (just estimate or average figure also can), thanks. n.b. i am keen to know this because i had just received a Christmas present from our Sifu, the COOL BOX for Canon EOS on 24 Dec 2012, - eager to try it out in Malaysia for M45
