Very nice shots, Joo Beng!
It was awesome experience when I observe the prominences directly with my eyes at through a 80mm scope without any filter (unlike a h-alpha scope) during 2nd & 3rd contact at Hangzhou 2009.

Re: Total Solar Eclipse, 14 Nov 2012
Here's a montage I made of the eclipse sequence as well as the ship that we were on. It's literally a whole city on the sea. Also just a general shot showing the eclipse "viewers" on deck at the time of the eclipse.
Best regards,
Joo Beng.

Hi all,
Just to try to capture, and share the moment, I've published a video of the eclipse experience last November in the Pacific. Have a look and hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it (and re-living the experience!).

Great video Joo Beng! It captures the drama and excitment of the event very well. The separate windows showing the close-ups of the Sun with the environment in the main picture is really neat. Having missed this eclipse, at least I can get to see it well on video.
Thanks for sharing the experience!

Re: Total Solar Eclipse, 14 Nov 2012
This is very belated, but I was nudged to post my photos of the eclipse in Nov last year, so here they are. We observed at Palm Cove beach near Cairns, Australia. Totality was quite difficult to capture, so I only have photos of the partial phase here.

The few of us who went had to spend the night at the beach (with the possible companionship of the crocs) since the eclipse started at sunrise and buses didn't run that early. The sun launched itself into a thick bank of clouds just after sunrise, but it cleared up miraculously before totality.
Enjoy!
