Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Chris
I'm considering either a 10x50 or 12x50 bino, something to last.

There are a wide range of brands on the net, but since I was "strongly recommended" activa & it falls within my budget, (i can see somone highlighted in orange colour hee hee), I might pop down to Lucky plaza next weekend to check it out :) Who knows, I can also start to save up for my first telescope perhaps year-end?

If you have the budget, go for Arief's binoc. It is a steal at that price! You need not lug the tripod with you. You can try using a monopod. Just rest the bino on it, just like professional sports photographers!

You can ask Arief to take a look at his and see if it is small enough to handle. If you do bring a bino to Mersing, you will begin kicking yourself for buying a 50mm instead of a 80mm.....aperture rules!

There are also bino mirror mounts for large binos. You can also see how a monopod works with binos.

You can try to make a mirror mount like that with the spare cash.

Well, to be frank, I'm sort of undecided actually... afterall, I'm just a week or so into asto... I've read that it is more advisable to get one that I would enjoy using always rather than a good bino, but kept at home.

I have also given the tot that I may, at a point of time in future wish to own a scope, and that would means I might aswell get used to carrying a load around right now??? :x

Not sure if it is fair to request Arief to just hold on to his bino, just to let me have a week or so to consider  Hee hee...
