CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
Hi,
I have taken a few image on the Milky Way (Scorpius area) using Nikon CoolPix 4500 piggy back on my 6" F5 Newtonian. I have process two of the better one... still too much noise (forgot to take a dark frame ) and my photoshop skill is not very good.. .
Anyway, both use similar setting. The Milky Way (Scorpius area) Wide View image is taken with no zoom. The larger Scorpius area image is taken with 2x Tele-Converter (I think so ) and 2x optical zoom.
Below are the basic setting for both images.
METERING : SPOT
MODE : M
SHUTTER : around 60 sec
EXP +/- : 0.0
IMG ADJUST : STANDARD
SENSITIVITY : ISO400
WHITEBAL : SUNNY
SHARPNESS : OFF
Have a nice day.
