My first humble shot of M42....

Hi guys! I'm really excited to have taken my first every shot of a Nebula.....with a very simple setup!

Its a one shot 30" exposure, ISO set at 1250 with a 5D Mark III and colour tweaked a bit in Photoshop....

Really excited!



Here's my humble setup! Everything stock on a Celestron Omni XLT 127 with the motor drive... I managed to get some drift alignment. Btw, I did not have a pier, so what I did was to take out the mount and place it in another orientation that works best for me...



Btw, like to say thanks to Remus and Cataclysm for sharing some tips and most importantly inspiring me during the last session at Bedok South.

Great shot! Try taking multiple shots and stacking in Deep Sky Stacker. The difference will astound you!
Try for about 1 hr of imaging time or longer if you can
