Rosette Nebula, the "Not so round star" (un-guided) approach
(Rosette Nebula; ngc2244), 12 Mar 2013, Changi Sea Side, Using Canon 200mm F2.8 X 1.4, @ f4.0 setting, GPD2 Un-guided, 500-D ISO 800 90s X10 + ISO 1600 75s X10. CR2 convert Color thru native Canon s/w, very little loss compared to using Nebulosity or Maxim for color conversion. Hence, only minimum number of sub exposure required.

good attempt Peter! thanks for posting this up. was this taken at Changi Point area? Thought it was under construction....

Thanks Remus, yes, this was taken near to the cashew nut trees at Changi Point area where they installed a whole role of white light lamps. It is under construction now & still my favorite spot. Weekend many people still do fishing, the lights are behind & not suited for South Stars work but as for North Stars & Zenith, they are quite good, one thing is that it feels a bit un-easy during late week day - nights, as i tend to believe that this is the spot where people throw their ashes, as can sometime see an object that looks like the Elephant God, being left at that spot.
n.b. Thanks for passing on the GPD2 Equatorial Mount to me Remus, enjoyed using it so much, can't part.

Nice shot Peter! Thanks for sharing. Don't let less-than-perfect local observation and imaging spots defeat you! Keep it up and keep shooting!

Thanks Kelvin, has not put on the cooler due to 2 to 3 constraints, High ampere battery is one, is also not easy to connect a lens unlike refractor OTA, in a rush to catch this object of 6 hr 33' RA is another ..
