CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
M42 (also known as NGC1976) is one of the brightest Nebula of the night sky.
This diffuse nebula is located on the south of the Orion's Belt in the Orion constellation.
It is relative large and bright making it the easiest Nebula to image.
The photo shown here is not trim. On the right of M42 is the Running Nebula NGC1977.
"The importance of a telescope is not how big it is, how well made it is.
It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."
-- John Dobson.
Thanks.
Your setup also can do it.
You have to know your instruments and their characteristic.
Of course to start with you will need a fairly good sky and most important no light pollution.
Imaging time will have to correspond to your telescope speed.
