Sam,

as for your unidentified bird... i'm no expert but it sould be a tailorbird....
i think they are quite common in singapore.
i did a brief google search and found there's a 1991 singapore stamp of this bird:
http://www.birdtheme.org/country/singapor.html

it would help if you remember the call of the bird. tailor bird call should be pretty loud and similar to this wav file from hk:

Hi,

Ok, thanks for the links. Some nature photographers over at CS also suggested that it's a tailorbird. Common Tailorbird, they said.

Here's a couple of pics from today, the same Adult and Juvenile Oriental Magpie Robins as yesterday. Some sharpening with photoshop was used.

How's the background this time ?

Adult Oriental Magpie Robin about to feed the Juvenile.

I loved the Oriental Magpie Robin Jr. It is picture perfect, just like the ones you see on post cards. I would give it a 10.

Hi,

Wow, thanks :o

BTW, remember the convenient thing about autofocusing you mentioned earlier ? It kinda failed me big time when I needed it most today. I missed at least 3 golden opportunities to actually capture winning pictures of the adult feeding the juvenile because the AF system got confused in the low light and clutted background/foreground ...

Normally, when I want to get rid of noise in a picture in photoshop I would have 2 layers of the same picture. Then I would gaussian blur the top one (not too much) and change the mode of the top layer to either overlay, soft or hard light or any other types of mode to get the desire effect.
