Milkyway 2nd attempt. -added new photos

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Milkyway 2nd attempt. -added new photos

Post by weisun »

This is the 2nd attempt for me to photograph the milkyway.. I would consider this a success as it's the first time i have can see a full blown Milkyway in front of me...Sadly the light pollution from nearby is still very strong.. and some clouds were covering bits and pieces, nonetheless, i am very happy indeed. defintely will try again..

Nice shots!

Perhaps you could use a photo editing software to reduce the yellow levels (where the light pollution near the horizon is prominent).

Btw, where did you take these images?

hi.. thanks....
I am a not too knowledgable when it comes to editing..
but i will try again...

This one was taken in Sekinchan, a little over 60KM away from KL.. so it's not that dark...
there where streets, and buildings and lamp post arounds.. so .. maybe better try again next time.

Thanks Gary..love the improvement myself..
Atleast now i have a photo of our homeground galaxy.. compared to the previous one.

#1 has the most accurate colours. Nice work considering the light and cloud challenges.

Well done.

You can call me addicted..
But I went again this weekend.. these are the result of it..
This time more patience from me.. i stayed and waited for 4 hours before the sky was cleared up.

Awesome! If it's not too noisy, can upload or add link to higher resolution and bigger photo size versions?
