CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
As Saturn sets earlier and earlier, here is a compilation of my humble Saturn pictures taken this season from Singapore, shot with an ASI120MM (best investment so far) either through a C11 or Mewlon 250:
Comments welcome I am still learning how to do this properly.

It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."

Nice Saturn images. I have heard alot about the ASI120MM. Is yours a BW camera? Can tell us about the filter wheel that you use?
I am considering getting either ASI120MM or a Celestron - Skyris 618M CCD Camera (Monochrome). Does anyone know if the ASI120MM is as sensitive as the 618 chip?
Hi Alfred, the 120MM is monochrome, the 120MC is colour. I use an Orion Nautilus 7 x 1.25" motorised wheel. It's cheaper than the other motorised wheels out there, but I cannot get it to work in Windows 7/8. Only works with my XP computer.
I am not sure if the 120MM is as sensitive as the 618 cameras. The DMK21.618 series is I think quite well regarded too.
Thanks for the extra info. Just found out that the company claims a peak QE of 75% even beyond ICX618. Looks like a great one to have for planetary imaging.
