Test shot of moon

Post by Mariner »

Testing my (finally) AP setup.

WO Zenithstar II 80mm ED F/6.8
WO 0.8x Flattener II
Canon 40D (Non-mod) with CLS-CCD clip filter (accidentally left on)

1/60second shot cropped. Colour and contrast adjusted (otherwise ended up with a really pink moon).

I tried another setup today. Was aiming for Saturn but no luck so ended shooting the moon again.

Optics:
Nexstar 6SE
TV 4x Powermate
Canon 40D (Non-mod)

1/13 sec shot at 6000mm. Image enhanced via adjustment of brightness and contrast.

Nice! Looks close enough to imagine walking on the moon :)
I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight
