Was surprised to see Orion which looked very interesting - but 6am is not enough time to get the telescope set up unfortunately.
Also saw Sirius which is the brightest star in the night sky apparently.
I assumed these where Northern stars - so its good to get up early sometimes!

Hi zymon, I was up at 6 am as well. They say its darkest just before dawn and with not a cloud in the sky - Orion was all stretched out, Sirius gleaming and I believe Jupiter too. Haven't seen such clear skies in such a long long time - then maybe I haven't been able to find the time. A magnificent sight ! Even though lasting only 30 minutes before the sunrise. I have noticed that its usually cloudless in the wee hours of morning so maybe instead of obbing late into the night, sleep early and start the day at 4-5 am, have a dose of the night sky then off to work? U will be on cloud nine all day! ![angel2 [smilie=angel2.gif]](./images/smilies/angel2.gif)

We used to have something like that in Singastro. Its called the CSN ("Clear Sky Network"0. That's when one person sees clear skies and sms everyone.antares2063 wrote:Maybe someday someone will invent an alarm clock that rings when the sky clears up, sure can sell plenty here..lol
I used to do it at 2-3 am to those I think would be awake like me...haha but I guess once you go to sleep, getting up again in the middle of the night would be a pain...
In anycase, the stars are always there, morning, afternoon or night. Just that when the sun is up, its too bright to see it. So not surprising you can see alot of stars in the morning just before sunrise.
Cheers
