Carina Neb from SG Kitchen - Tampines

Post by PETER LOO »

My Kitchen is facing South view & is situated at 9th Floor, quite good for doing Southern Objects, this kitchen is where i started my AP journey (before doing visual. My first object taken was Eta Carina Nebula, with an integration cam (some kind of security camera - black & white) Astrovid EX which had cost me around SG 1,000. My first processing was using Paint Brush, as i thought it would help me to erase off some noise (it didn't). Although the shot did not turn out too nice, i love Eta Carina Neb very much & took it over and over again, many time, sometime nice. As for current, i intend to catch up with visual ..
1st photo (Carina Neb, NGC 3372), 10 Jan 2010, Tampines, Astrovid - EX Cam, Canon 135mm F2.0, NFD Lens Morg Adapter, EQ-1 Mount with Single Axis Motor
2nd photo (Carina Neb, NGC3372), 30 Apr 2013, Tampines, Canon 500-D, ISO 800 1mins X 10 (un-guide) + ISO 400 2mins X20 (PHD Guided via 50mm scope & SSAG), Meade 5000 APO ED 80, Vixen GPD2 Mount.

Thanks Lton, using your Cam lah, love DSLR since then, no intention to switch over to CCD although the later has higher "Quantum efficiency" (not very sure what is that but i think higher the better) ..
btw, i had modified the DSLR Cooler that Kelvin passed on to me, it can go down to about 15 deg C (Sensor Temp) and more spacious now, only thing is a bit heavier and made the focuser sag down, initially was thinking of getting a TS-80 to hold this load but later think ..think, only use for about 1 to 3 more objects (for M31, Veil Neb etc) so delay the buying of better Optics - (Teleskop Service TS-80 / FSQ / Megrez etc) & just stay put for another 2 years, then pick up AP again, meanwhile, just look through my C6 and be happy ..
