Small collection of some solar images (QX)

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Small collection of some solar images (QX)

Post by lqx »

[smilie=depressed.gif]
Given the past few cloudy months...
Been digging around old subs that I haven't really had a chance to process...

Solar surface, 2013-11-07
Taken in H-alpha.

Personally, I loved the features on the middle-left of the image, as well as the almost-3D filamentary structure at the bottom! [smilie=bye2.gif]

(aside...)
Had a chance to see 1944 visually 3 times the past week (the sunspot that gave a X-class flare), but had been unfortunate not to have good enough skies to image it properly! [smilie=depressed2.gif]

Was part of an awesome sunspot bunch, really contrast-y against the surface!

the resolution of the first pic is incredible!

Hi Qixiang,

That was awesome!! Solar scope 100mm is fantastic.

1944 has re-emerged from the dark side as AR 1967. Looks like it can't escape you this time :P

Keep them coming.

Thanks Gary, Junwei, Alfred! Hope you manage to catch it too! The skies these days have been improving... somewhat blue but a persistent high haze!

[smilie=admire.gif] was up imaging it yesterday! more to come...!

This was the prominence that was shooting off to the side of AR 1967 I believe.

[smilie=dong.gif] Now working on the sunspot group...

[smilie=bye2.gif]

Got a little lazy to start a new thread...~

Think I'd just post my solar stuff here!

Sunspots 1981, 1982, 1984.
Imaged 2014-02-20.

Hopefully I'd have a full disk one coming!
(I think I finally managed to solve my interference fringe issue! Happy!! [smilie=cheer.gif] )
