CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Orion Nebula 27/03/2014

Post by Delpheo »

Hi all,

I've been testing out my new astrophotography setup lately, so thought I'd have a go at the easy targets. Definitely pushing the weight limit of the mount, but still 'workable'. The total luggage I had to carry came down to 3 bags, which wasn't really that heavy if you slinged everything. :mryellow: I think the pic was pretty decent, or maybe that's because I'm still in the beginner stage hahaha :)

Taken from my open area beside my void deck

Camera: Unmodified EOS 60d
Telescope: Orion ST80
Mount: Vixen Polarie
Filter: Astronomik CLS-CCD

1136 x 8 sec lights, ISO 1000, f5.0, 640mm
Stacked in DSS and processed in lightroom 3

It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."
