Veil & North America Neb from Tampines

Using a Celestron UHC filter, i managed to catch the outline of some moderately faint Nebula from Severely light polluted area (my balcony @ Tampines) but because the Canon 500D used run up to 39 / 40 deg C, the results are quite noisy, each Neb took about 1 hour cumulative of ISO 1600 2 mins & 3 mins sub-expossure using 65mm TS Quart, on Vixen GPD2 Mount, 50mm guide scope + SSAG guided. Cooling the Camera would yield better results but then is not easy to control the condensation building up ..

Thanks Alex , now a day can only do target of opportunities, as the sky is always closed, once opened, take what ever target is convenient ..
Thanks Kimo, i used a 65mm Aperture scope, 420 mm focal length, it is TS-65 quart from Teleskop Service, Rungsberg, set up is simple and as shown below :
As you can see, my opposite block is pumping a lot of stray photons into my scope from 10th & 11th floor (2 level higher than my position), the available sky corridor is very narrow, at most can work 2.0 hours or 30 deg RA sweep, Dec is also quite limited to work. (n.b. Stray light is best illustrated via the North America Neb, which has a round patch of light superimpose on the final image, UHC Filter also cannot block it, i guess using Narrow Band Filter will solve this problem) n.b. all 3 pics were cropped, not 1:1

You can use Astronomik Lp V4 filter to extend your exposure. I don't know if the Camera can produce less noise for such long exposure.

Thanks Kochu and Airconvent, i followed some of your tips and did not over pull the curve this time, hence it look slightly less distracting although still quite noisy, thanks

btw: if done with LRGB using cooled CCD, like what Kochu & Kimo did, the results would be much much better, as every 5 deg drop in temp, the dark current or thermal noise will reduce by half (read it from somewhere, has not verified)

Don't use the LPS-V4. It's way too much of a hard cut. An un-modded DSLR doesn't have a chance.

I have some Rosette subs somewhere with the LPS-V4 and un-modded 40D. Thermal and read noise are horrible.

I think so too Orly, but doing Cooled CCD in Narrow band required much longer data acquisition time, may not be well supported by our weather condition here, DSLR will produce good results for bright nebula and clusters and some brief outline for Mag 14.9 galaxies here for 1 hour accumulation of 2 mins subs, so we can obtain many objects when opportunity comes
