Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.
Having cleaned up the fungus and restored this gem on my own with some internet-savviness and some very good seeing these nights, I took my C8 out.....into my living room and point it to the moon and Saturn last Friday for a look.
This was taken with a Nexus 6 behind a Masuyama 32mm...on a Manfrotto 410. Really pushing it but I'm pretty please with how it turned out.
Managed to split the rings on Saturn pretty well with distinct banding on the planet itself.
Deeper into the night when the scope cooled down sufficiently, managed to find M7 and Jewel Box (after much fumbling and referring to star guides) and was pleasantly rewarded with sharp points of stars with the Masuyama.
Will see if I can have more Living Room Obs in the following nights.
The gentle light of a distant galaxy
must needs pour into mine eye.
Or i shall with bent and turned,
fall me down, distraught..To die.
