WTS: William Optics Zenithstar 66SD (Orange) (sold)

Post by Great Red Spot »

Hello, selling this well used refractor to make space for other things. Selling for only $300.

This is a 66mm aperture ED doublet so false colour is very nicely suppressed even at 200x. Image is sharp and contrasty compared to short achromatic refractors.
Very small and portable. Dew shield is retractable. Comes with attached shoe, allowing direct attachment to a camera tripod head.
Smooth dual speed and rotatable focuser.
Lens is in very good condition. Tiny negligible specks of dusts. Body shows signs of use, but a solid 8.5/10 even on close inspection. Orange anodising is still bright and nice.
Comes with a case. Has scuffing and dents but perfectly functional.

Have a look at all the full disc sun and moon images taken using this scope here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12993

Contact Alvin @ 973111zerofive. Meet near Serangoon MRT.

For an extra $85, includes essentially new Borg "correct image" diagonal, a quality 12mm made in Japan Kellner eyepiece, and a generic 4mm eyepiece.

At this focal length, the 12mm eyepiece nicely takes in the moon. The field of view is about 2 moon length. Here's a picture taken with my phone camera through the 12mm eyepiece.

For another extra $65, includes a used lightweight Manfrotto 7321YB tripod, which I bought for $130 two years ago. Has quick release, carry bag. Legs extendable by 3 sections. Adequate for casual viewing.
