Real Time Video Image for both Planetary & Deep Space

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Need recommendation for a good quality real time video imagers for a project with the Meade 14" SCT :-

Hi,
1. Planets, Lunar & Solar ... prefers color
You can try using a Camcorder for this. I had taken a few video clips of saturn, jupiter and the moon using the Sky-Watcher 5" MCT and my Panasonic Camcorder (with eyepiece adapter). The video quality of the moon was quite good, but a little bit too small (at low magnification) or too dim (at high magnification) for jupiter and saturn. But since you will be using on 14" SCT, I think it will be a lots better than my 5" MCT (of course). :)

May be I should try again using my 6" Newtonian

Have a nice day.

Hi folks:

The stellarcam II is actually Watec's Neptune 120 . To beat noise they introduced the ' incamera' integration to 256 steps . I do not have this late model camera since I obtained the mintron camera ( integration to 128).

For our light polluted sky - Stellar Cam II should be perfect for DSO if you prefer a late model and greatest thing. The cheaper Mintron is no longer in production.

For color project may be you can use the cheaper webcam and reserve the integrating b/w camera on DSO.
