

A group of volunteering stargazers will be holding a special lunar eclipse viewing event free for the public at the Marina South Pier MRT location (see annotated map below). You are most welcomed to come with your family and friends, with or without optical instruments. Nevertheless if you have a telescope, please bring it along and join in the fun in helping us to share the views with the public. We will be setting up our instruments from 6:30PM on 31st January (Wednesday), during the evening of the eclipse. Note that the eclipse will enter U1 phase at 7:48PM (local Singapore time), see link below. For those in the astronomy community, it will be great to see you once again! Let's catch up! Directions to Site:
You are most encouraged to take public transport, in this case, by MRT to the location during eclipse day (there are lots of people coming). You may alight at Marina South Pier on the NS Line, and make your way to the site via Exit B. There is also a carpark at the Pier (for those driving) but it is quite small (See picture below).
