Hi Michael

Goggling will review many information on SC1 mod, including the specific steps in which legs to lift and tracks to cut. It should not be too difficult to understand.
OTOH, the devil is in the implementation, I can say that because i trashed a brand new webcam with less then stable hands when soldering.

I wish you luck that leads to a successful mod. Do keep us posted!
