Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

Volunteering your equipment for SF2004

Post by nF »

Posted on behalf of Remus:

Hi all,
Am glad more people are bringing their equipment for
SF2004. However, please note that there are two major
events during the festival that welcomes your
equipment:
1) Stargazing sessions on the 12 and 13th Nov, and
solar session on 13th Nov.
2) Equipment Display within the Concourse (indoor)

The purpose of (1) is the showcase the various
instruments that SINGASTRO members have to the people
attending the event by experiencing deeper
understanding of what the night sky is all about via
these instruments. If you are keen to bring your
instrument for (1), then please inform Weixiong who is
the Outdoor Director incharged of the Outdoor
Sub-committee. He will be the one responsible for
planning the stargazing sessions and solar
observation.
If you have a solar filter, you could of course
volunteer for the solar session as well. Please email
him directly at starfire82@hotmail.com with your name,
contact number, email address and instrument model(s)
as soon as you see this notification! Thanks.
Also please note that if you are doing this, the
committee will be understand that you will be present
in-person with your instrument(s) during the
stargazing sessions which will start from 8PM-10PM on
both nights (Nov12 and 13).

The purpose of (2) is for the attendees to learn and
see the various instruments available in the astronomy
market and owned by different
individuals/institutions/bodies. (2) will be handled
by the Logistics Sub-comm headed by Terry Mathews. If
you are volunteering your instrument(s) for (2), your
instrument(s) will have to be present by 1030HRS on
Nov 13. It will be best if you are around as well, as
the sub-committee is not liable for any unforseen
mishandling, but rest assured, the sub-committee will
handle them with great care. Anyway if you able to
attend the festival for the entire course of the day
from 1030HRS, I will assure you that it will be a
unique, fun-filled, and educational experience for
you! So for (2), please email Terry at
sirius_746@yahoo.com.sg with your name, contact
number, instrument model(s) as soon as you see this
notification!

Now, if you plan to volunteer your instrument for BOTH
(1) AND (2), please email BOTH of them as well.
Thanks!

Hope I have clarified this matter! See ya at the fest!
PS: Will certainly be bringing my instruments too!

Best Regards,
Remus
