Window Astrophotography 2019
Re: Window Astrophotography 2019
Beginning a project on NGC 3576, The Statue of Liberty Nebula, in SHO palette. About 6 hours of exposure so far, but I think there is more nebulosity in the surroundings that can be further extracted.

Re: Window Astrophotography 2019
Here's one of my first attempts at galaxy imaging from my window. Unlike narrowband images, I am facing the full force of Singapore's light pollution in this case. As such, this is not a fantastic image by any long shot, but you can see most of the brighter parts of the structure.
So here's Centaurus A, with about 2 hours of luminance (60 sec subs) and 30 min of RGB (manually dithered and cropped heavily). I focused more of my imaging time on luminance as I'm more interested in getting detail than colours.

Shot with APM LZOS 130 at f/4.5, Atik 16200

Here's M83, the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy in Hydra, in HaLRGB.

NGC 6188 in SHO
This year's summer season hasn't been particularly great weather-wise for Singapore. But there were a couple of good nights, and perhaps another handful of average nights which were still acceptable for imaging.
Here's NGC 6188 and NGC 6164-5, the first of this year's summer objects from my window. I originally wanted to get at least 20 hours of integration time on this, but so far I have only managed 9 hours. But this is still one of my favourite objects, so I am decently happy with the result. This was shot with the APM LZOS 130 at f/4.5 and Atik 16200 CCD with 3nm Chroma filters.
EDIT 02/09/2019: I've managed to accumulate more data on this object thanks to a recent streak of clear skies, so I'm now up to 13 hours on this target and counting:

A little crop of NGC 6188:

And NGC 6164-5, with the faint OIII outer halo:

You made good use of the clear nights, Ivan. Great shots!

M17 and IC 4628 from the window
Thanks Richard!
We are seeing more clearer skies this month, so I have managed to add more data to NGC 6188, and I have replaced the images with the newer ones in the previous post.
On top of that, here are a couple more from this season. There's still time before they're gone from the sky this year so I'm hoping to collect even more data in the next month or so, but here's what I have for now:
Swan Nebula (Messier 17) in HOO bicolour palette

And a crop:

Here's the Prawn Nebula (IC 4628) in SHO. I've also added RGB data to give the stars their natural colour, which is my first attempt at doing so.

Cropped version:

Thanks for looking!
