hi weixong/john/all
the view must have been good on wira's 10"!
I was about to set off at 12.30am when I saw the entire sky was totally clouded up, so decided to abort as I was a little tired anyway.
when wira called me at 0130hrs informing the sky was clearing up, I was already too sleepy and fear I may fall asleep at the wheel driving there!
anway, glad to see new members joining in. welcome vincent !! (that makes another vincent...I wonder why many singastro members have the same name! richard, sam, vincent etc).
hopefully the sky will clear up and everyone will be able to increase on their observation activities.

while waiting for the sky to clear up, there's no better way to kill the time than to chit chat, taking pics, and admire our scopes :D

Hi Arief,
It looks like you managed to buy your surveyor tripod!
From your configuration, I also surmised that you probably have a wee bit of vibration problem especially when viewing at high magnification?

felt a bit of vibration only when using 270x and above (the surveyor tripod actually eats into the grass and the mount i use was designed to support up to 30lbs, i.e. a C11), changing to wooden tripod or using vibration pads should solve that.
anyway, i'm not really into high magnification, spent most of my time with DSOs using 26/30/40mm EPs.
