The website is www.perseid.com.my but due to some problems with his service provider, it is currently disabled. He told me he is trying to get the site up asap. For those who wants to see CK's effort, you can view them here :

http://members.tripod.com/~choonkiat/gallery.html

I wonder if he would join Singastro as a vendor as well?

BTW, I am keenly interested in the truss Dob. Anyone who is interested please PM me so I can check if we can get a bulk discount...
Thanks!

Hello Everybody,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their kind hospitality while I'm in Singapore. I have had a wonderful time meeting all of you and hope that I'll be able to return to Singapore soon.
I would like to apologize for the problem with my website. The website was down a while ago and we had been given a run around by the provider. We are still trying to solve this issue. There are many people who have known us via our website and changing the domain right now may not be a good idea. That is why I still chasing to get the web to be in order. I'll inform the group when it is up. I AM SO SORRY!
I will contact the relevent people to set up as vendor section in singastro mailing list. I have been spending the whole afternoon yesterday at my carpenter shop to get some issue iron out. He's trying to finish a sample by end of next week. Then I'll post the photo for your review.
I would like to invite all of you to Penang for astronomy, sightseeing, or just come here to eat Penang food. See you.

regards,
CK

Hi CK,

Once you have the photos, please post it at the vendors section. We will be looking forward for it.

I might be going to Penang for the event, so hope to see you again. Meanwhile, I really hope you can investigate on how to incorporate DSC or even dob driver II on those wonderful truss tube of yours. It will be great if your truss has that DSC or tracking option.

Hi CK,

Sorry I did not get to see your truss dob. Sounds great. While you are at it, why not design a tracking equatorial platform? Being near the equator, it should be pretty simple. PM me if you want more hare-brained ideas from me :-)

OK, this is a bit off-topic. I will re-start this part as another thread.

Hi,

Yes, it should be possible... I can't see why it can't be done. Remember that a Dob is basically same as a fork mount without tripod and with a Newtonian on it. Since you can put the fork mount in equatorial mode, you also can put Dob in equatorial mode.

The problem is how to make it practical and portable.

May be we just remove the 12" SCT OTA from Lee's Meade LX200, mount a Newtonian on it and set it in Equatorial mode... then we have a GOTO Dob in equatorial mode!! Ha Ha Ha

Have a nice day.
