Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Hi,
Oh boy, looks like its not such a good idea to get one then. And even if i did, its not such a good idea to advertise here anyway.
That's correct... if you want to get one, you should do it quietly :k-evil:

As what we say in the army: You can do whatever you want as long as you don't get caught... :k-evil:

:k-evil: :k-evil: :k-evil:

By the way, heard that it can be seen from quite a distance away, so it seem like quite impossible to use it without getting too much attention from others.... especially, now everyone is worry about terrorist. A laser beam will sure cause alarm and will caught the attention of the man in blue.

Have a nice day.

My friend did a lab test using a Wickedlaser 45mw green laser pointer, with the help of an amplifying glass to bring the light beam into focus, the laser burnt and charred the plastic surface of a battery charger. Here is a demo showing the effect of a 45mw green laser pointer at night.

Hi,
Just ask your friend to be careful when using this laser... make sure he don't use it to point at a highly reflective surface, because the reflected laser on a lightly reflective surface will still cause damage to the eye.

Have a nice day.

thanks for the warning, he's used a laser goggles during the test. In fact the real concern is "the man in blue" :) (don't worry, he did this abroad)

Perhaps he can chip in a little bit of info here.

It works as advertised, even in light polluted skies.

Amateur astronomy green lasers are usually Class IIIe.
Nothing fancy, it cant even hurt a mosquito.

Matthew
Mathew, if you are at a housing estate or say in an area like Orchard and point this beam up...can you see the beam?

(quoted from a Chinese astronomy forum) This is another demo showing the effects of three green laser pointers having different light output. (from left to right: 100mW, 5mW, 45mW)
