Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Assume they are more than 10 big fungus spots of about 2-3mm and more smaller ones around the peripherals. These fungus cannot be remove with typical optical cleaners Alcohol base cleanser.

Now I got a a powerful Alcohol base cleaner (MEK) which can remove almost any debris & marking even fungus on the Lens & Mirror. (had used that to remove the most stubborn dirt on my car!)

Should I then use this to remove all the Fungus infected spots on the Lens & Mirror knowing :-

- it will remove all optical coating on the lens & mirror
- it might also remove the mirror base Al coating

Or should I just let the fungus stays & spreads further

What is the expected optical loss/gain ?
Please dun use that on the mirror and lens.
I agree, DON'T EVER and never not a single molecule of Alcohol base cleaner (MEK) to come into contact with your fungus infested mirror... well, the mirror coating more or less has being "eat" into your mirror coating already, hence the damage is there already.

However you can minimise by washing, say I usually will take the mirror and gently wash it under the warm water, let the water run through, not directly, titled at a angle, and you dun go scrub it.

Until no more mushi mushi fungus left, den allow it to dry then settle liao. I would keep it in dry box.
