Better buy a good trolley that has wheels that won't drop off carrying that load. :P

Weixing used to carry much more than that! There was once when we took the bumboat from Changi to the Batu Layar ob site, and one auntie on the bumboat complained to us because she thought that Sam and I had 'tekan' (torture) Weixing by making him carry much more stuff than the two of us combined.

That auntie had a lot of compassion for Weixing; she said he looks smaller in size than both of us but we made him carry much more than two of us! (... imagine it is like a Himalayan Sherpa carrying all your gear up the mountain...)

Army issued binos are pretty good for the moon and bright star clusters. That was what i did while serving my in-camp .

I tried the army's 8x35 swarovski binos but they weren't really sharp especially at the edge. There was also an ancient gigantic military Nikon bino  20x120  used during live firing! But i didn't managed to test it on the night sky. Seems to have a lot of field curvature during day viewing. But that's understandable considering it was made in 1957!

Hi,
After I got my Celestron 8" F5 Newtonian, I had been thinking of how to pack my scope for OMO (One Man Operation). Below is my current packing method:
Package 1) Pelican 1550: Vixen GPD mount, Counter-Weights, Motor Controller and Batteries.
Package 2) OTA Bag: Celestron 8" F5 Newtonian OTA and Vixen Tripod.
Package 3) LowePro Omni Trekker Backpack: Eyepieces, Camera, Star Atlas, portable chair & etc.

The pelican case (Package 1) will put on the trolley base, OTA bag (package 2) will stand on the case and tie to the trolley handle and I'll backpack the LowePro Omni Trekker (package 3). If this work out well, I think I might be able to take the MRT with this.

The attachment show some pictures of it. Now just to wait for the sky to clear and test out the setup at somewhere near my place.

Have a nice day.
