Just back from the event.
Firstly, its quite well organised. Nice area. Short grass, drinks and chairs provided and good mix of public. It was cloudy but we managed to show the public Saturn, Mars and Orion.
Apart from a tireless Jin Peng and Remus, the singastroians that were present included myself (WO80), David Lian (Skywatcher 102), Clifford (ETX105), Richard II & Wife (Mewlon), Weixing (ex-Meng Lee Vixen Newt), Zong and Kelvin (Astrophotographer Cataclysm).
My poor little 80mm aperture also had its moments with the public, thanks to a loan of a Pentax XW 5mm from richard II....wow!
The aunties that peeped through a low mag Saturn was nonetheless impressed by it... [smilie=admire.gif]

Kudos to Jin Peng and team for putting together the event and keeping the astronomy hobby alive in Singapore. Why they even provided small gifts for the invited participants too... [smilie=cute.gif]

Thanks to the organisers for making this event successful, although the sky wasn't cooperating much but the atmosphere was great. Really excited to admire quite a number of scopes there. After so many years, airconvent haven't change much but remus has grown much bigger :)

Btw David Lian's scope is a Skywatcher 150 not 102 [smilie=admire.gif]

Thank to Jin Peng for this well organised event.
The clouds played hide and seek with us whole night.
Enjoy myself.
Hope to have more of such events.

Yes, thanks to Jin Peng & his team for organising this well-planned event.

In spite of the clouds, we managed to show the public a wonderful sharp view of Saturn at 345x. One young lady was so amazed and she exclaimed to us that she cannot believe it as this was the first time in her life that she observed the real Saturn with her own eyes... we really live for such special moments!

We definitely look forward to participate in more of such events in future.

Thanks too to David for transporting the scope (and us) to this event!

haha...I'm old and fully grown when I first bought my ETX from you whereas Remus was a growing boy. One of the aunties that night referred to him as " Is the organiser that tall hunk over there?".
