hmm..for me i would take

3inch semi apo wif manfrotto 410, lightweight, wide field views, likely to be most used scope
4-6inch apo or 5-6inch mak wif gp-d or gm8, planetary scope, gd for showing off too =X
8-9.25inch sct wif gp mount, portable wif lots of aperature to play wif
12.5/18inch dob, big scope, nice toy when u have gd skies
fujinon 7x50 bino, gd for locating dso
maybe another scope for ap, epsilon, fsq or np101, wif a g11 =X throw in a st10mxe for that

Gwenyi, your ideal is only HST? I'd like the russian space station if I had the money... stay there whole year round using the machinery beats even a HST lol :P

Ok, back to reality, my ideal scope:
1) 20x100 binos
2) C5 to go, if possible I'd bring it anywhere anytime :)
3) gimme a 16" SCT! (my finderscope)
4) Any good camera (haven't researched on astrophotography yet so dunno what)

3) hassle-free travel scope -- TV85
4) fully goto scope for the fun of it

1) a grab-n-go APO refractor from Takahashi or Televue
2) a GPS goto 14 inch pier mounted SCT
3) the 7 inch Questar (love the optics + swiss watch type mechanics)
4) a small permanant observatory for the garden
5) image stabilisation binocs like the ones from canon
6) BEST OF ALL: quality scope time at Mauna Kea

after looking thru the mewlon 180 and 210, i think i will take the mewlon 180 instead of the 8-9.25inch sct.
