Your Ideal Scope Collection?

Hi,

I was wondering what would be your ideal scope collection, assuming enough funds but not enough manpower to lug around if needed (i.e. yourself).

To start off for myself:
1) Portable light bucket e.g. 10" portaball
2) Grab and go scope e.g. 5" SCT
3) Dedicated high power scope e.g. MN61
4) A pair of large binocs for travelling with the family (70mm)
5) A small MCT just for the fun of it (e.g. 90-102mm)

I already have #2 and #4, with #1 is coming in the form of the 10" truss dob which is still on the drawing board

How about the rest of you guys?

Only 4 scopes for me,
a small get-up-and go scope like the ETX90, a small short tube refractor for wide views, a medium 4" goto scope, and an 8" LX200
of course, having a big vehicle and house would have helped also..
time to check those big sweep tickets

Hm, for me only 3 will do :

1) Grab and go / wide field scope with good optics (the Pronto has done well here, but hey, who dosen't want an Astro-Physics Traveller for this category ?

)

2) Ultra portable light bucket (a mini one with killer optics will do too...like the 7" Teleport for example. But a 10" version would be nice)

3) A premium primary scope on fully motorized GEM for serious work (a TV102 for example)

I am a newbie.. for me the setup will be lesser.. haven't grown so hungry for apertures yet

.. Portability is an important criteria (I am a nomad, never stay at one place :-D)

1) Grab and go scope = 80mm refractor
2) A pair of large binocs = 20x 70 (have a cheapo zoom fumiyama bino)

Plan to get
3) A medium-high power telescope = 4" on LXD55 (TV or AP)
4) A small MCT just for the fun of it = ETX 105 GOTO (anyone selling :-))

This is an interesting topic

Some scopes I wanna have ...

1) Super portable - 70-80mm premium binos
2) Semi- portable light bucket - 16-18" dob
3) Quick look scope - thinking of a Sky 90 but the 10" teleport already qualifies to a some extent
4) Planetary scope - could be the same 16" dob if it already has killer optics. Again 10" teleport already qualifies as one.
5) Airline portable (for those dream trips to alice springs) - 7" teleport+DSCs (no time for star hopping on holidays!)
6) Fun scope - possibly an ETX 125 with full GOTO

For the moment, the teleport will satisfy 2,3 & 4. Also got 1. Still working on 5 &6, still dreaming of 2.

haha.. we're assumming enough funds right? then lets go all the way!
how about a 40" TMB APO refractor in a state of the art observatory on a mountain in australia? or maybe hawaii.. anyone wanna sponsor?

1) Mag1 12.5" Portaball
2) 36" Dob (My dob is a BIG butt bigger than yours!) from Obsession
3) 5" MCT with Zambuto Optics prehaps?
4) Small APO refractor from TMB
5) 20x100 Killer Binos from Vixen
6) Another FLT to make a FLT binoscope!
7) Epsilon 210
8) FULL range of TV and Pentax products!
9) SBIG ST10XME with autoguider
10) 5cm wide pupils with X-ray vision at night
11) And to top it off, deep clear skies in a equatorial island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean....

For me.. just give me a 80mm refractor for now, i happy liao.. hehe
still havent fulfill my basic dream.. no need to dream of my ideal set.. hahaha
