any news / reviews on the ioptron iEQ45?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Oh is it? You gotta really shed more light on this to me.

I am using a meade LX50 8" SCT with a Canon 5D Mark II via a 2" system. My heaviest setup will be the above with a 2" WO Diagonal and a Baader 8-24 clickzoom and a 2" filter. Eventually, i'll add a refractor to the fray for guiding... so frankly, i am not sure of the eventual weight. But I definitely wanna get something that is over and above what I currently have with some buffer to expand.
You can go to this link and find out what EQMOD can do http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/. A lot of users throw away the handcontroller after installing EQMOD and control the mount via the computer. I even hook up a wireless gamepad to control the slewing. No more wires!

As for the load capacity, you can look at the Atlas EQ-G, the big brother of Sirius. Atlas carries, as advertised, 40 lbs. But of course it is heavier and more expensive.

latest report too are not the best.

what ever happens to the one enduser at singastro. Would appreciate some end user feedback esp from this part of the world. I do not want to suffer from buyer's remorse.

I am in the replacement market for my long in the tooth EQ6. Otherwise have to do a hypertune.

A new Tak EM200 Temma 2 is a bit too deep for my pocket.

cheers

Erm, most of the complaints are about the skysensor controller. That must have been a long time ago; Starbook has been in use with the Sphinx and Atlux for a while now. Its easy to use; I had no trouble with it on my first night out.
Vixen mounts seem to have this issue with backlash and tightness of the motor gears, but between that and poorly fitting gears held together with thick grease...
But you're right that the Atlux uses a different mounting plate as compared to all other mounts so you'll need your own Atlux dovetails.

looks like this mount has a following. Enthusiast are already beginning making improvements

improving the periodic error kit from stock +/-15 arc sec. to half before applying PEC.

I doubt if the next one will be a half pier and a wedge for up to zero altitude adjustments . Unfortunately the main market is at the temperate zones.

Yes there is a need for a lighter mount but with similar load capacity as the EQ6.

cheers

That upgraded worm is like $500 SGD! costs about the same as the Ovision worm for Losmandy (also made by some French guys..)

I can't believe everyone is jumping up and down over +/- 15 arc-sec error (or +/- 8 arc-sec with this special worm). A G-11 does +/- 8 stock and about +/- 3 with the Ovision worm! (of course it costs more than this)
