Joyce, am not using a modded 40D. And no WB because BackyardEOS captures in RAW.

I think my SNR is just too damn poor because of the short subs and bad light pollution. And I can't figure out the color-balance adjustment in DSS. So..

For the colour-balance adjustment in DSS, it's more for evaluating the result of the stacking parameters than producing a final result. It's recommended to do the post-processing in software like Photoshop, PixInsight and etc.

My bad, read your post too fast and thought you were using the modded 300D.
have downloaded the backyardeos software and it looks promising - want to try out the drift alignment if only the skies will co-operate. Hope this will save my neck peering down the illuminated recticle for manual guiding.
