Ah i see. So that's a GOTO. Thanks.

Um, I was checking out astronomydaily's website and they seem to have quite a lot of binos there.

There's the recommended 10 x 50 but would a 12 x 50 or 12.5 x 50 be better? What about a 16 x 50?

I wear glasses. Does it make a difference about the choice of binos I should get?

Thanks.

the numbers 10x50 means 10x magnification by 50mm aperture. usually the higher the magnification, the harder it is to hold the bino steadily, thus u will see the stars jumping around in the fov. some people find themselves using 10x50 without problem, others can't hold it that well. do try out a pair before u jump into it.

if you wear glasses, look for one with long eye relief.

What's eye relief? Rather, what would be considered long eye relief anyway?

Sorry rather new at all these terms.

Eye relief refers to the distance between ur eye to the lens of the eyepiece. Expensive eyepieces hav better eye relief of usually 20mm. Most generic plossl have eye relief of 5--15mm. Longer E.R. is better as it is more comfortable to observe as ur distance between eye and lens is greater. 8)

yes definitely. Especially for those shorter focal length eyepieces, if ur E.R. veri short ur eye will almost touch the len.

I think impt keyword is missing(too much O level) : Eye relief is the distance from the eye to the eye lens required for the eye to see the whole field of view. Anyway, I suggest unless you have astig, eye relief shld not be a major problem, cos you can do most of your observing without glasses. A twist of the focuser will correct myopia or longsightedness.
