More oxygen is actually bad for you? Then what about those oxygen tanks you take when diving and used by hospitals for those with difficulty breathing? Won't it kill them rather than help them? Interesting..
chaosknight, nice pictures.. Sorry to tell you, i have no experience with excel making such stuff. Most of my computing work is done in the area of networking and programming. If you could care to send me the file to let me learn? I also wanna have some fun with playing with these trajectories..

zong,
those "oxygen" tanks are actually compressed air tanks. we use oxygen because that is the essential component. for people with breathing difficulties, they are no getting enough o2. hence hospitals use high concentration of o2 to compensate, so that the final amount that enters the blood system is the same as a normla person...
btw, if the concentration of o2 is too high, you can become intoxicated with it (i.e. behaved like you are drunk, not from alchohol but from 02!) or even die...

And in diving tanks the oxygen would have to be diluted with another inert gas like Nitrogen or Helium (at greater depths). Also, commercial divers at greater depths lower the oxygen contents in their tanks to prevent toxicity.
Cheers!

One important thing which i think helps higher level organisms form is the presence of salt.
It is possible salt helps individual cells structure themselves into branching plants, and this gives them the opportunity to specialize and form multi-celllar organisms.
