If the CDK17 did not attract a cyclone, I think the new community centre observatory should be safe during first light.

I shall have to buy a smoking pipe soon for another Edwin Hubble-type pose.
Imagine viewing objects through the Planewave 17.5 at a dark sky site. Let's build an observatory in Johor!
Incidentally, I've read on the net that at Mt Wilson Observatory near Los Angeles, where Edwin Hubble and other historic figures like Harlow Shapely observed, the public can view through the eyepiece of one of its scopes, the 60", at US$1700 per night. So some astro groups of 10-20 would would rent it together. It's apparently the largest telescope in the world that can be rented by the public. Imagine viewing through the eyepiece of a 60" scope... Let's go!
