"The importance of a telescope is not how big it is, how well made it is.
It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."

That's a very nice panorama!
I think the "Mist" is due to the smoke haze. Here's a shot from above central java. You'd think that's a layer of low lying cloud..... nope, its smoke haze, all the way up to 8000ft!

Haha, yeah the haze in Java can be very bad in clear days. For the thin layer in my photo it should be more likely to be mist from my experience, like those you experience when you drive to/from Mersing at night. In SG it seems like places like the Jurong and Mandai areas are more prone to this kind of mist at night/early morning.
The haze layer usually reaches much higher altitude than this and produce less light-diffusing effect.

Here is a photo I took on the summit of a 3265m tall volcano in Central Java. The city below is Solo, 45m above sea level. The two main volcanoes in the distance are respectively 29xxm and 31xxm tall, It can then be judged that the haze layer is at least at an altitude of 1500m.
Goodness, its that bad...thanks for sharing Jiahao
I think the Indo government should be focussing on the root rather than just the symptoms. There is a need to reach out to those farmer with slash and burn tradition or to progressively change their methods away from nomadic farming to commercial ones. If not the problem will never go away. (except when global warming puts more rain in that region!)
