Another try for CSN-Dempsey Rd tonite
If its going to be activated at all, it would likely start at 8pm. Clear skies!
Good session tonight... Met the wonderful people of singastro and found out my scope was having problems with pinched optics or was out of collimation (sigh!). Learnt a few constellations, saw some great stuff and found out that size important!
Anyways... great to meet all of you and thanks for the guidance and advice. Hope to see you all again soon... and forgive me if I don't really recognize you when I see you guys next, pretty hard to see faces in the dark!

glad to see you have finally joined the action.
if "pinched optics" was mentioned, it could only come from Vincent Snr.
Pity I could not go or I will be able to meet up with you...finally.... as well as take a look at Vincent's much talked about 8" SCT.
I know Sam and CC were there too, so its quite normal to be hit by aperture fever once you see their scopes but remember, yours is more portable...you will probably be able to come out more often and more mobile than the 2 of them..

Yeah, met some people there tonite but don't remember all of their names.
The sky in dempsey is still pretty bright. Most nebulas require the use of the UHC filter.
For those who have met me there, really wish you guys put up your names again here.
As for the SV scope, the collimation is ok....just that the lens cell is a tad tight leading to a slight pinch on the optics. Ease it off a little should be fine. Actually leave it alone wouldn't do much harm.....if there are flares or anything, try a different eyepiece. Could be eyepiece problem.
