Celestron C6 for Deep Sky AP : sample = M27 & M8

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Celestron C6 for Deep Sky AP : sample = M27 & M8

Post by PETER LOO »

Using C6 SCT with 0.63 X. reducer, i tested it out 1 - 2 mths ago at Tampines Area as usual, carried by Vixen GPD2 mount un-guided (woun't need to activate the PHD Guide if taking less than 2.5 mins sub), received some advice from Kelvin on White Balance using Nebulosity s/w, & here it goes, M27 & M8. The M8 has poorer contrast as taken at Tampines Street 72 car park, which suffer lagi severe light pollution than Tampines Central.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Tampines is going to be a sg astro shrine very soon with people like Weixing and you! Keep up the good work! Those who are still lurking in Tampines, what are you waiting for? :)

Thanks Kelvin, i used the Adjust Colour Background Off-set function you suggested & re-do the M27, becomes more natural now, not so blue like the previous one..

When is your next session?

I stay in Tamp too... maybe can join you and teach me a thing or 2...

Am planning to get my autoguiding... started a thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11451

Maybe you can give some advice too!
