How to Get to Dempsey Observing Site?

Found an old link to Siva's enthusiastic astronomy site in which CC indicated how to get to Dempsey. For those who wants to know how to get there.

For those who need clear directions, Arief has drawn a fairly accurate map to the location. Here it is:

Do note that except for the main road, there is no small road leading to the site. you simply turn off from the main road and park at the clearing...

Is the Dempsey Observing site still in operation? Who views there?

Tachyon,

Chee Chien was the main person who activated CSN (clear skies network) for Dempsey road, but now he is in the states.

The site is still there of course but there have been no obs there for a while. People have been exploring darker sites such as in Tuas and in Changi.

I'm not sure, but it seems that the light pollution at Dempsey has increased over the years. There are some pubs there now when there wasn't, but I think it's Orchard road that has gotten brighter.

If you want some where in central to observe,Dempsey still can be reasonable place to ob.
We will be there on 22nd Oct Sat nite for looking at Mars.
But definitely not darker than Tuas.

Since Chee Chien is currently away, is the CSN still in action or has it been called off? It's been some time since I last heard of anything relating to CSN though..
