I'm looking for a C5 for a very long time...Anyone know anyone selling one or is selling one?

All those sinagstro members with C5 aren't selling.
I'm eyeing an original orange c5...heh heh

Hi Rich,

I believe VinSnr is looking for the NexStar5...a C5 with GOTO. I suggest you relook the original orange C5...I think it does not have StarBright coatings. Actually, for awhile, I did contemplate selling my C5, but I managed to snap out of it....whew!

The orange C5 and the white C5 is very good. The white C5 has starbright coatings though. The later black C5 (comes mainly with the G5 series) ain't that good because they are so massively produced.

Don't ever sell C5. Because it can use SCT accessories, it's very convenient. If you have one..treasure it....I am also trying to find one and I doubt the optics in the N5 is that good.

KayHeem, how much did you pay for your C5 last time?

Hmmm...I can't remember. I bought it from a Canadian dealer at the normal price. It was part of the G5 and I have only the OTA now as I have already sold the EQ2 mount.

It was about US$750-800 with a RA motor IIRC, plus shipping which I estimate it to be US$200, making it a total of <US$1000 or abt S$1700. You can double check the price with the older editions of S&T (before 2000).

Because I was trying to get one and wonder if a price of SGD$930 (inclusive shipping) just for the OTA alone + acceossries + hard case is worth it...

what do you think?

As I indicated earlier, US$900+ can get you an 8" LX-10 (not new but at least "unused"...heh heh!

err rich..I am talking about SGD$930, not US$900.

But don't forget that the LX-10 will give you crazy shipping prices...prepare for another US$300-$400 or so.
