WTS: Modified Canon 5D & extras

Hi folks,

I have a modified 5D kit for sale:
5D body (with original box, etc)
Spare battery
Timer remote (3rd party)
Split-prism focus screen
"Astronomiser" 12v power adapter (one end goes into the battery holder, the other end is a 12v "cigar lighter" plug).

I got the 5D body used from Japan, back at the end of 2009, with the "hot filter", already removed. Without the hot filter, you can use it fine with a telescope, but lenses will not reach infinity focus, so I modified it by cutting a UV filter into a rectangle and fitting this in front of the sensor, with appropriate shims. So, now it can reach infinity focus with no problem. I've used Canon EF lenses, as well as Nikon, Olympus OM, Pentax M42, etc... lenses via adapters, with no problems. Note that you'll need some kind of UVIR filter in front of the lens, otherwise you'll get a *lot* of red signal from near IR.

There is a very slight scratch on the glass I used to replace the hot filter (cutting and filing the glass was tricky!). This only shows up with extreme stretching of the image, and can easily be removed by flat fields, as per "dust donuts". I used a well-coated filter, and there doesn't seem to be any problem with internal reflections from bright sources.

If you like, I can re-do the modification to remove the new glass entirely. As well as this camera, I've modified a 350D in the past (and my soldering skills and equipment are much better now).

Eveything is in good working order. There is a slight mark on the rear where I burned the case slightly with a soldering iron. Otherwise the body is in fine condition.

Selling as I bought a QHY8 and then SBIG 8300M CCD, and ended up not using full frame as much as I thought I would.
