Star Map on a Samsung Phone

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Star Map on a Samsung Phone

Post by Airconvent »

Was going through the latest issue of Sky and Telescope when I came across a star chart programme that was designed to run on a samsung phone!
What will they think of next. With limited memory and micro display, I wonder how one can actually put it to go use.

Hi,

Hmm... I suppose the program runs on java? I currently have MicroSky and Solun'-u installed on my N3650 and both run on java. Besides, they also takes up minimal space and if i'm not wrong, they can run on any java-enabled phones.

I hope its available in Singapore. I love the S&T sky charts for their unparalleled simplicity. To my knowledge, up till now its still located exclusively in the US.

No, java files are reasonably small in size and usually no more than 100 KB. All java-enabled phones should be able to handle it without much difficulty with space and stuffs like that.

Anyway what's the name of the star map program?
