this is actually today's (26 sep) Berita Minggu newspaper (sunday's edition of BH). I don't have a scanner, but here's the excerpt from the article:
--------
The beauty of night sky is something that Encik Yeo Wee Heng admires since his school days. The electronic engineer spends his valuable nights stargazing with his giant

telescope. His favourite observation place is the open field around Tampines estates.
When met by Berita Minggu recently during his observation session, Encik Yeo, 31 years old, passionately said:
"The universe still has a lot of unanswered questions, it's trillion times bigger than the solar system".
"The best time for me to observe is during cold, quiet, and dark nights

. I traveled all around singapore to find the right spots, but the Tampines field provides a lot of conveniences".
"You can see moon, planets, and stars with different color, brightness, and shapes. They are very beautiful, you have to see them one day."
If other people knows about other planets only from science books, Encik Wee has seen Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter from his telescope. At the same time, he can see globular cluster such as Omega Centauri, nebulaes such as Orion Nebula, and other galaxies such as Andromeda. Using a solar filter, he can view Sun as well.
When asked about his unforgettable experience, he said it is when he saw the shadow of one of Jupiter's moon on the surface of the planet.
However, Encik Yeo agrees that his hobby is not cheap. He has spent thousand of dollars in his hobby, his telescope (OTA?) alone costs him $800.
