LXD55 Autostar

Post by coolcat »

Hi all.

I recently bought over Vin's LXD55 + 8" Newt. So 4 weeks ago I've got no scope. And now I have 3! (A friend gave me his Firstscope 80 WA.)

I plan to use my Skywatcher 127MCT with the LXD55 mount + half pier + tripod combination. I'll save the 8" Newtonian for special occasions. (Unless I can find someone who is willing to trade a smaller SCT with this gigantic 8" Newt) :)

The weather is rather bad lately so I've yet to play with the Autostar. Going thru the manual now. I'm a bit apprehensive actually. How should I go about? I don't really know where to start. Anyone kind enough to run thru with me? I'll buy dinner/lunch! :P

I could ask Vin. But I think he's probably busy packing & moving house. So I'll bug him once he settles down at his new place. :P
