Hi fellow astronomers,
We need observation volunteers to set up their personal telescope or binoculars for public viewing during the Astrofest obsevations on the following days and time slots:
13 Nov (Sat) from 12-2pm for solar observation. (must provide own safe solar filter)
and
12 and 13 Nov from 8-10pm for night observations.
Of course it will be great if you could volunteer for all the events! Schools and institutions are also welcome.
Experience in navigating the sky is preferred but not compulsory.
If you have a passion in showing the public the beauty of the night sky, please email/pm Weixiong(Traveler) at starfire82@hotmail.com
Kindly state your contact number and the model of equipment you are bringing. We are looking forward to seeing your big guns!
Thanks for reading

Hi all,
I'm finally back from ROC.
Regarding fizzy123's above question, the official observation timing will be held from 8-10pm. After that you're free to stay on as long as you like till daybreak (for solar observation if you have the stamina)
Currently we're trying to get as many scope volunteers as possible after which there will be a briefing before the event. But basically every scope owner should (preferably) be around or ask someone he/she can trust to attend to the scope during the observation. This is to prevent any inexperienced hands from damaging the equipment or any items to be stolen.
Do feel free to pm me for any enquiries. I'll be praying for clear skies on that 2 days.

Hi Yong Quan,
I should be able to make it with my ETX90 if its needed on both nights as long as I do not have any pressing problems. A relative is coming in and out of hospital so if there are no problems, I will be there...
Only problem is my astro knowledge not as "tokong" as weixing, samuel, remus, cc,vincent, etc....heh heh
Do PM me the details.
