How about a pop-up scope?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

How about a pop-up scope?

Post by VinSnr »

Guys...

Ok..if you think setting up a truss tube is too much effort for you, or even the teleport looks too much of a task for you, how about getting a pop-up scope??

Look like a heap of metal to me. Really hope it doesn't get tangle though

Would love to see one of these in Spore. Ok...be honest, who will be the first?

Wooo!! That!
I had my sights set on that long ago...but with my meagre NS pay. That will be a long way to go... -sigh-

I really have serious mechanical doubts about this scope when I saw the picture above...

Sure it work?

Although it looks like the renmants of a RSD2, but it does actually work! It sort of just unturn the few flexible rings around it then lock it then wa-la! Sturdy stuff! why dun u bring it and we can investigate it further??? :D

I wonder how often can you turn and unturn this thing before it becomes flimsy.

I will be amazed if this scope gives the same strength and stability like the conventional truss tubes.

i have no doubts abt the stability, but prices seem a little bit on the higher side.

the material is carbon fiber, should be strong and stable (and light). the structure without mirrors costs US$800. maybe can ask cc to bring one to singapore? (it's a 10" airline carry-on btw)
